Spanish Version of CCSS for ELA Now Available
“Common Core en Español,” a joint effort between the San Diego County Office of Education, the Council of Chief State School Officers, and the California Department of Education (CDE), is pleased to announce the availability of the Spanish translation of the Common Core State Standards (CCSS) for English Language Arts, which includes “linguistic augmentation” to ensure the new document goes beyond a word-by-word literal translation to communicate concepts usefully. The Contra Costa County Office of Education (CCCOE) Common Core Web page contains resource materials, presentations, and information gathered from ongoing professional development in Contra Costa and neighboring counties. The site includes handouts and presentations from the recent San Francisco Bay Area Common Core Summit hosted by CCCOE, as well as links to valuable resources provided by other agencies.
